At the very core of the heart of God is a culture of Giving. God gave us life itself; He gave us a family to care for our needs and provides all the resources we need to flourish. He gave us a purpose, and meaningful work. He gave us His love and when we needed it, He even gave us His own life so that we could live. He tells us that there is no greater love has anyone than to lay down His life for another. The culture of giving is far broader than the just our finances and is expressed in the sacrificial offering of our time and talents as well as our treasures. However, God revealed that where our treasure is, there our hearts will be also.  When we give of our treasure it reveals where our heart is. To help us grow in maturity, God established a model for giving a first fruits of our earnings as a demonstrative measure of our love for Him and a practical measure for His church to accomplish His work.
